This section of the site is all about the engine on the car. A 1998cc (two litre to most folk), 16 valve, twin cam turbo charged lump which gives approximately 310bhp in its current form, listed below. This power, combined with the mid engine, rear wheel drive layout of the MR2 enables a 0-60 time of sub 5 seconds - if you don't like your clutch very much!
at present the engine is a revision 4 block, with a 1.2mm hks headgasket, hyper sr downpipe, celica GTFour (st205 model) chargecooler with front mounted radiator, stage 2 hybrid turbo, apexi avcr boost controller (set at 1.2bar) with a blueflame exhaust. to aid in the cooling, a Paul Port Water Injection system has been fitted. This sprays in 50:50 water:methanol into the throttle body to maximise combustion and raise the octane points of the fuel. this is all managed at the moment by a standard ECU, although the Link management system is going to be installed within the coming weeks, just need to let the funds build up again!
Once the management system is in place, then the engine will be getting fitted with the ATS racing TD06 turbo, to hopefully give somewhere around 350-360bhp
